Windows 98
To configure your IP address in Windows 98 do the following:
  • Click "Start"
  • Then click "Settings"
  • Then Click "Control Panel"
  • Double click on the "Network" icon
  • You will be presented with the following screen
  • Highlight the "TCP/IP ->" option which is tied to your network card (In the example above the network card is called "3Com EtherLink III", your card may vary)
  • Then Click the "Properties button"
  • You will be presented with the following screen:
  • In the "IP address" tab enter your IP Address (provided by ICE Broadband or by your network administrator) and the Subnet Mask
Note: If you have a Router or Sharing Gateway installed (or dhcp configured on your network), simply select "Obtain IP address automatically"
  • Then Click on the "Gateway" Tab, you will be presented with the following screen:
  • Enter your Gateway IP (Provided by ICE Broadband or your network administrator).
    Note: If you have a Router or Sharing Gateway installed, simply leave this blank.
  • Then click "add"
  • Now select the "DNS Configuration" Tab, you will be presented with the following screen
  • Enter Your "Host" name (provided by ICE Wireless).
    Note: If you have a Router or Sharing Gateway installed, simply select "Disable DNS". You can then skip the next 3 Steps.
  • Enter the "Domain" icecomms.net
  • Enter the primary DNS server address (provided by ICE Wireless) and press "Add"
  • Enter the secondary DNS server address (provided by ICE Wireless) and press "Add"
  • You Can leave the "Domain Suffix Search Order boxes blank
  • Then press "OK"
  • Then press "OK" again
  • You will be asked to restart your computer, restart it.
  • When the computer reboots, your IP address will be configured
